Delete your Kalai account
Kalai keeps your account, family profiles, drawings and progress so they sync between your devices. You can delete all of it yourself in the app, or ask us by email. This page explains both, and what is removed.

1. Delete your account in the app
A grown-up can delete the whole account from inside Kalai. It takes under a minute:
- Open Kalai and go to Home → Settings (the gear at the top right). Answer the short maths question; it keeps children from changing things by accident.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account, then confirm.
Your account, every family profile on it, all drawings and paper photos, lesson progress, stars and streaks, and the notification token of each phone are deleted within 30 days. Signing in afterwards with the same Apple, Google or email sign-in starts a brand-new, empty account.
2. Or ask us by email
If you can no longer open the app, or you prefer to ask us, send an email to [email protected] with the subject Delete my Kalai account, from the email address you signed in with. For an Apple "Hide my email" sign-in, send it from the relay address Apple created, or tell us the profile names on the account so we can find it.
Guest accounts have no email. If you used Kalai as a guest, removing the app deletes everything on the phone; tell us the phone model, the profile names and the approximate date you installed Kalai, and we will find and delete the server record.
We delete the account and reply to confirm, within 30 days of your email.
3. What is deleted
- The account (email or sign-in provider id) and every family profile: names, avatars, modes and languages.
- All drawings, drafts and photos of paper drawings, including the copies sent for AI feedback.
- Lesson progress, stars, streaks, badges and the daily-challenge history.
- Push notification tokens and your notification settings.
4. What may be kept, and for how long
- If you bought Kalai Pro, the purchase record (product, amount, date and the store's transaction id) is kept for as long as Indian accounting and tax law requires us to keep financial records. It is no longer linked to a usable account.
- Crash reports are anonymous and are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
- On Android, deleting the account also cancels a Kalai Pro subscription paid through Razorpay. On iPhone and iPad it does not: cancel the subscription in your Apple ID's subscription settings, otherwise Apple keeps charging you.
5. Delete only one profile or some drawings
You do not have to delete the whole account. In the app, a grown-up can delete a single family profile (press and hold its picture on the "Who is drawing today?" screen), and any drawing can be deleted from the Gallery.
