Shabdleela (शब्दलीला) is a Hindi word puzzle game for adults and teenagers, provided by AI Techies ("we", "us"). You can play without an account; signing in is optional (see "Optional account"). To play, the game does not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and it never asks for your contacts, photos, microphone or precise location. The game counts how it is used with Firebase Analytics (see "Usage statistics") and can show ads served by Unity Ads (see "Advertising"). This policy explains what the game stores and sends, why, who handles it for us, and how to ask us to delete it. Questions go to [email protected].

What stays on your phone

Your progress (the stages you have cleared, stars, hints, your daily streak), your settings (language, reminders, spoken clues) and a random installation ID that the game creates the first time it runs. The ID is not your name, your email or your phone's advertising ID. This information is saved on your phone and is removed when you uninstall the game. A copy of your progress is also backed up to our server, as described under "Progress backup and transfer".

What the game sends to our servers

When you open the game it sends a small record to our server, so that we can keep the game working, know which versions are in use, and send notifications you have allowed. The record contains:

This record is not linked to your name, email address or phone number. The game also downloads its settings from our server, such as whether to show an update notice and the hint-pack prices. That request contains no personal information beyond what any internet connection reveals, such as an IP address.

Progress backup and transfer

So that you do not lose your progress, the game keeps a backup copy of it on our server. The backup contains your game progress only: the stars you earned on each stage, your daily-challenge results and streak, your hint balance, records of hint packs and other purchases already added to your game (the order or code references, so the same purchase is never added twice), your language choice and the game's settings switches (such as reminders and spoken clues). It is linked only to the random installation ID described above. No name, email address or phone number is involved, and you do not need to sign in. If you choose to sign in, the backup is also kept under your account; see "Optional account".

The game saves the backup a few seconds after your progress changes and when you leave the game. Each new save replaces the previous one; we do not keep older copies. The backup is used only to give your progress back to you:

The backup is stored by Supabase on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union). It is deleted together with your device record when you ask us to delete your data; see "How long we keep it, and how to delete it" and our data deletion page. If you play without an internet connection, nothing is backed up until you are online again, and the game works fully offline either way.

Optional account

You can play without an account. If you would like your progress to follow you to any phone, you can sign in from the game's settings (Settings → Account) with Google, with Sign in with Apple (on iPhone), or with a one-time code sent to an email address. Signing in is optional, and the game works the same without it.

When you sign in, we store:

We use this only to keep your progress under your account, so that you can restore it on any phone where you sign in, and for nothing else. We do not send marketing emails; the only emails we send are the sign-in codes you ask for and, if you buy hints, a copy of your purchase (see "Purchases"). Once you are signed in, your progress backup is kept under your account as well as under your installation ID.

Sign-in codes are sent by email through Google's Gmail service and are valid for a short time only. If you sign in with Google or Apple, that company handles the sign-in under its own privacy policy: the Google privacy policy and the Apple privacy policy.

You can sign out at any time in Settings → Account; your progress stays on your phone. You can also delete your account from inside the game in Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes the account, the progress saved under it and your email address from our server immediately. Account data is stored by Supabase on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.

Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)

To understand how the game is played, for example which chapters are too hard and where players stop, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase. It records game events: a stage started or solved (the chapter, the stage number, whether it was won, the number of tries, hints used and stars), a hint used, an English meaning shown, running out of tries and what you chose next, a rewarded video watched, a hint pack bought (the pack, the payment method and the number of hints, never payment details), the share button tapped, a streak broken, a progress backup restored, the sign-in suggestion and your answer to it, signing in or out (the method only) and an account deleted. Firebase also records app opens and sessions by itself.

With these events Firebase collects an app-instance identifier, the device model, operating system and app version, your language and country, and the approximate location implied by your IP address. On Android, and on iPhone only if you allow tracking, Firebase may also use your device's advertising identifier. We see these statistics as totals and trends in the Firebase console. We do not send Firebase your name, email address, installation ID or account ID. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Notifications

The game asks whether you would like notifications when you open it (on iPhone, after Apple's tracking prompt), and may ask again on later visits until you allow them. You can say no each time, and switching reminders off in the game's settings stops the question. If you allow them, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers our messages, such as the daily challenge, new chapters, a reminder when you have not played for a while, or a reminder to finish a hint-pack payment you started, using your push token. You can turn notifications off at any time in the game's settings or in your phone's settings.

Purchases

Hint packs are optional and are bought inside the game. We never see your card, UPI PIN or bank account details.

If another payment method, such as Google Play billing or a direct UPI payment, is switched on in a version of the game, we store the same kind of order record (the product, the order or UPI transaction ID, the amount and the date) with your installation ID, so that we can check the payment and add the hints.

We sometimes give out hint codes ourselves, for support or promotions. A code entered under Settings → Enter code is recorded with the installation ID that used it, so that each code works only once.

Advertising

The game can show ads, served by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). There are two kinds of ad: a full-screen ad between stages (never during a puzzle and never in the daily challenge), and an optional video that you choose to watch to earn free hints, extra tries or meaning views. We may stop showing the full-screen ads to players who buy a hint pack.

To serve and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, personalise ads, Unity's advertising software in the game may collect and use: your device's advertising identifier (the Advertising ID on Android, the IDFA on iPhone), your IP address and the approximate location it implies, basic device and app information, and how you interact with ads. This information goes to Unity; we do not receive it and we do not add it to the record we keep about your install. See the Unity privacy policy and how Unity Ads uses data.

Your choices: where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Unity shows its own consent prompt before personalised ads, and you can change your choice from the privacy link shown inside any Unity ad. On iPhone, the game asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can change it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you. We ask for ad content suitable for a general audience.

Spoken clues

The speaker button reads a clue aloud using the text-to-speech service installed on your phone (it needs a Hindi voice). The clue text is passed to that service on your device; we do not receive it, and we do not record your voice or use your microphone.

What we do not collect

Unless you choose to sign in (see "Optional account"), no account details, name or email address; and never your contacts, photos, camera or microphone data, or precise location. We do not read your advertising ID ourselves; Unity's advertising software and Firebase Analytics may read it, as described above. Apart from those two, the game contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking libraries. We do not sell your information. If we add anything new, we will update this policy and the game's store listings before that version is released.

Who processes it for us

Some of these providers process data on servers outside India, for example in the European Union and the United States. We disclose information to anyone else only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Uninstalling the game removes everything stored on your phone, including the installation ID. The record on our server, and the progress backup linked to it, are anonymous; they stop being updated once the game is uninstalled, and the backup is kept so that you can restore your progress if you install the game again.

If you signed in, you can delete your account yourself in the game under Settings → Account → Delete account, as described under "Optional account". To have the anonymous install record deleted as well, or if you never signed in, write to [email protected]. In the game's settings, "Copy device ID" copies the installation ID so you can include it in your message; if you bought hints, include the Razorpay payment ID or App Store order ID, which also helps us find your record. We will delete the record, your progress backup, any transfer code and the notification token we hold, and confirm to you. The steps are also on our data deletion page. Records of hint purchases may be kept as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records. Firebase keeps usage statistics for a limited period under our Firebase settings and deletes them automatically.

Security

Data travels between the game and our servers over encrypted connections. Our database is configured so that the game can only add or update its own record, and the control panel that can read these records is limited to a short list of approved administrators.

Your rights

Under the laws that apply to you, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us what we hold about your install or account, ask us to correct or erase it, nominate someone to exercise these rights for you, or raise a grievance. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, ask for a copy of your data to take elsewhere, and complain to your data protection authority. Write to [email protected]; we will respond within a reasonable time and in any case within the time the law requires.

Children

The game is intended for adults and teenagers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game asks for no name or contact details to play; signing in is optional. If you believe a child's information has reached us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the effective date above, and if the change is significant we will tell you in the game before it takes effect. See also the Terms of use.
